Phillip Williams (My Picture)
Welcome to Conversations in Education! This is the first blog I’ve ever created. Over the years, I’ve read many teacher blogs and always told myself I would create one. I’m glad I’m enrolled in the EDU 776 class because it forces me to take this leap into the blog world!
My name is Phillip “Phil” Williams. I was born and raised in Chicago. I have a B.A in Elementary Education and I am a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in Education. I started my educational career in Chicago Public Schools as a Special Education Paraprofessional. I then moved to Las Vegas where I became an Intermediate Resource Teacher. This past spring, I returned to Chicago and took on a position as an Education Coordinator for DCFS. This has truly been the most rewarding job! I work with students who face huge obstacles. Together, we work on ways to reach academic success and prosocial skills within and outside the classroom.
My Family (My Picture)
Outside of my professional career, I am a huge White Sox fan! I enjoy traveling and seeing new places. I come from a large family so spending time with family is also important to me.
One of my biggest passions is collaborating and learning from others. I enjoy searching, discussing, and sharing educational ideas that benefit my students and which also helps me to be a better teacher. I look forward to working with everyone in EDU 776! |
